How is everyone doing? What are your current goals? Has anyone run any races recently?

I have two races coming up!

The first 5k is May 3, and a Warrior Dash is May 10th - i didn't plan that well. at all. I am doing the dash with my best friend and her husband, so I could I say no? :)

My current goal is just to simply finish them. My asthma is going to be kicking into high gear right around then, so I am little apprehensive and trying to figure out how not to lose my inhaler during the dash.

I figure since I've never done a 5k before no matter what I do, it'll be a PR! That's my version of thinking positively!

I ran a New Year's Day 5K and then did nothing until the beginning of February. A few "warm" Saturdays allowed me to get outside and run 3-4 miles, so on a whim I signed up for a 3-weekend series 3, 4 and 5 miles. I had never raced more than a 5K. It is very addicting. I am signed up for a bunch more races this spring, including a 10K in June, then will take the summer off from races and just run on my own, and I am signed up for a 5K in Disneyworld with my 8 year old in the fall.

I need to start upping my miles. I was so careful last year not to overdue it, so I was only running once a week, but got myself up to 7 miles. Now I want to work more on speed, so need to do speedwork and hill work during the week.

Sadly my finances aren't allowing me to sign up for all the 5ks I normally do this year, but I am managing to get out and run once or twice a week. I'm running an 8k race in a couple of weeks and have started training for a half marathon in the autumn(!).

In Week 4 on half marathon training! Faking it on the elliptical this week because of some Achilles pain, but have an appointment with the massage therapist/chiropractor Tuesday to hopefully banish it for good.

what is your half marathon training looking like? how many times a week do you run?
